MALTRON single handed keyboards have been developed as a logical step forward to meet the needs of those who need to type with one hand. The shape matches natural hand movement and the key arrangement minimises finger movement, raising speed and relieving frustration.
The special shape and letter layout have been very carefully planned, taking into account the limited number of keys that can be accessed quickly and comfortably.
Word-processing input speeds of 85 words per minute have been demonstrated by operators using Maltron single handed keyboards. The fully ergonomic shape ensures freedom from strain and no RSI type problems have been reported in over 10 years, although all the work is done by one hand!
These keyboards have Push-On Push-Off keys for Shift, Control and Alt functions; essential for single hand operation. Windows keys are also included.
The alphabetic, numeric and arrow keys are all included in the depression of the keyboard. There is also a separate numeric keypad on a flat plane and the function keys are arranged in a single row across the top of the keyboard.
Available in both a Left and Right hand model.
Please note keyboard is UK layout. Although the majority of the keys are the same, some have different functions than the standard US layout.
Mechanical Key Switches
The Maltron One Hand Keyboard features the Cherry MX switch underneath each keycap.
The linear switching characteristic combined with an increased spring force triggers directly.
Thanks to a stronger spiral spring, the tried and true CHERRY MX smoothly moves the keys back to the starting position and grants the necessary staying power for long writing.
