Channel Up, Channel Down and On/Off buttons are switch accessible. Just plug in your own switch or switches into the jacks, and the buttons on the remote will be activated.
For example, with a switch plugged into the “channel up” jack, then every time you press the external capability switch, the channel will increase by one.
It is a simple process to program this learning remote to work your TV, DVD or other infrared controlled appliance; detailed instructions enclosed.
Not limited to Power, Channel Up, Channel Down
Virtually any home appliance that has an infrared remote can be programmed into the Learning Infrared TV Controller. So it can also be used to control an IR-capable CD player, radio or MP3 player. For a music player the three switches could be programmed to activate Play/Pause, Track Forward and Track Back.

The switch adapted Learning Infrared TV Controller can be programmed to control most remote controlled devices. Televisions, DVDs, CD players, Radios, etc. can be controlled by the Remote.
Up to four external switches can be plugged into the Learning Controller.
These switches duplicate the functions of the following buttons:
- Volume Up Button
- Volume Down Button
- Channel Up Button
- Channel Down Button
Setup
- Decide how many switches you wish to use with the Learning Controller. – From 1 to 4 switches.
- Decide which socket/s and function/s you wish to access with your switch/es.
- Program the Learning Controller to control your appliance (TV, etc.) See below.
Learning the infrared signals
- You will need your existing remote control that works your TV, etc., as the Learning Controller must learn the signals from your existing remote.
- Place the two remotes horizontally with their front ends facing, end to end, keeping a distance of about 2 to 5cm between them.
- Hold the Set (S) button on the Learning Controller and release when the red LED lights.
- Press and hold the Power button on your TV remote till the red LED starts to flash.
- Now press the button on the Learning Controller where you want to store the learned signal – in this case the ‘Vol Up’ Button.
- Repeat steps 1 – 4 above to train infrared signals for the Volume Down, Channel Up and Channel Down buttons on the Learning Controller.
- Press the Set (S) button on the Learning Controller to end programming.
- Test the Learning Controller with your TV by pressing the buttons that you have just trained.
- Now plug in your switches to the four switch jacks, two each side of the remote and test with your TV.
