A fun and versatile wooden game, the Domestic Animal Family Match is a set of fourteen pairs of smooth tactile basswood ply tiles with a clear colour print on one side of real photographic images of adult domestic animals and their young. The square chunky tiles are easy for your child to hold and turn over in their hands.
Fun to use in the following ways:
- A matching game – turn all the tiles face up and match the adult animal with its corresponding baby.
- A memory game – turn the tiles face down and try to remember where the animal family pairs are situated.
- A sorting game – sort the tiles into groups; by habitat, different feet (hooves, claws, paws), pets or farm animals, or by size (smallest to largest).
A great way to discuss with your child where animals live, what they eat, are they prey or predators, where your child can see or visit them, how many have they already seen, the differences between adults and their young, their appearance and how it is important to look after animals.
